2011 POP Mashup!!! Think it’s a good recap of this year’s pop music hits?

Cool website for finding new workout music

For those of you out there who are group exercise instructors and junkies, especially the cardio ones (Turbo Kickboxing, Zumba anyone?), you’d know all about BPM or beats per minute. It’s like a metronome that will dictate your every move in class.

Oh no the flashbacks…the horrors of piano practice…STOP! STOP IT!! Side note: Who else here was forced to play piano? It’s a common Asian tradition.

My friend Chris who happens to be the resident workout music EXPERT for Marie Claire Magazine has a whole website dedicated to cool songs that you can listen to. You can sort by things like source, tempo, genre, and decade. See it here.

Really good way to find new music. As silly as this sounds, I am NOT a good music picker! I find it hard to browse new songs so I call my sister and ask her what’s in instead :P

Sometimes I use Pandora or Last.fm to TRY to find new music. Most of the time I look at what you guys tell me on Facebook

Anyway, Chris is offering a REALLY GOOD DEAL (and you guys know I love deals) for us peeps in the Blogilates Community and I wanted to share it with you guys! Esp. those of you who are music freaks!

Here’s the deal:

*3 Hours Of Continuous Mixes – Download free 60 minute mixes from three of his favorite DJs.

*2 BPM Calculators – Links to Chris’ two favorite, free tools for finding a song’s beats per minute.

*Chris’ 10 Favorite Remixes – Download–for free–ten of the best remixes he’s heard this year.

*Ideal BPM Finder – 36 downloadable audio files–spanning 75-180 BPM–which you can use to find your ideal workout tempo.

*AND a CD with cool songs from indie bands and DJs from all diff genres.

He’s only charging 10 bucks with free shipping. You can click here to read more.

Whether or not you decide to buy the music bundle, I encourage you to check out Runhundred.com for a good way to listen to brand new workout songs every week.

So tell me…How do guys find new songs?

To tell you the truth, I’m not the best at seeking out new songs. I either have to ask friends what’s cool or check out sites rating the top tunes of the week. Luckily, this time, I got a personal email from Chris over at RunHundred asking me to share this playlist with you guys. I was surprised to hear from him because I had already subscribed to their free newsletter a couple months ago!

If you don’t know what RunHundred is, they are basically a website that compiles the best workout songs and emails out what’s hot that week. I love that the BPM (beats per minute) are posted right next to it so that you know whether it’s a fast or slow song.

Musical motivation is sooooo essential to a good, tough workout.

If you want to hear a snippet of these songs, you can go here or just youtube it. That’s what I do!

What songs are on your playlist this month? Tell me! I need more inspiration!
