So you wanna go beast mode? I’ll show you how to go beast mode. If you’re not sure what workout you should do today, look no further. Just do this one 40 min workout with me and I promise you will be SOAKING with sweat even though we’re not doing any traditional cardio. Just 1000 squats is all. I dare you to take the challenge! Stretch time!! Stayed up til 3am last night and had to wake up early for POP Pilates this morning so I was extremely tired. Before heading into my usual workout post-teaching, I decided to take a moment to find calmness and stretch deeply in the empty yoga room next door. I felt soooo relaxed being in that big room all by myself with the early morning sunlight barely shining in. It reminded me that sometimes you need to just stop, forget about the chaos and pressure around you, and just live for yourself. Do the things that make you happy in the moment. I feel better now. Off to my workout!!! By the way… Who did the 1000 squat challenge?? Are you still alive!?? If you’re following the workouts for July 28th please either do just the 1000 squat video or the other videos listed on the July Calendar. Do not do both!!! And remember - that workout is TOUGH! If you’re tired or hurting take a break. I want you to push but not to the point of harming yourself. Good luck! Stay strong!!!
This morning I woke up and wanted a smoothie real bad so this is what I made! I call it the Summer Splash Protein Smoothie!
1 handful of FROZEN strawberries
1 orange (peeled and de-seeded)
1/2 scoop of creamy vanilla protein powder (today I used a soy version)
1/2 cup water
Tasted sooooo creamy and smooth!! I loved it so much. The great thing about smoothies is that anything will taste good as long as you have a sweet factor, a cold factor, a creamy factor, and a liquid factor! In some cases where you mess up and it’s too sweet for example, you can add citrus to balance it out. Or you can water it down with more ice or maybe almond milk. I don’t think I’ve ever screwed up too badly with smoothies. But baking…umm that’s another story!!

This is the perfect afternoon pick me up. I call it Berry Blast Energizer Smoothie!
Ingredients for 1 serving:
1 handful of fresh strawberries
1 handful of frozen blueberries
1/2 cup of water
1 stevia packet (2 if you like it sweet)
Blend and that’s it!!! Tastes so good!!

Can’t tell you how much I love sashimi salad. It’s refreshing, full of flavor, and the fish is buttery soft. My fave is yellowtail. So wanna hear a funny story? One time back in Boston when I was a struggling little Pilates instructor and I had this addiction to sushi, I decided I could save money by buying raw fish then cutting it myself. Don’t worry! It was grade A sashimi status fish from Whole Foods! But ummmm…can I just say that preparing your own raw fish versus being served raw fish makes SUCH A HUGE DIFFERENCE!? I felt really weird. Not physically or anything from eating it. Like…emotionally. I felt like I was eating… raw… skinned… fish. Not sashimi. Ya feel me? Let’s just say never again.
